Millbrookers of all ages gathered for our first-ever Vacation Bible School Sunday on July 28.
Our inaugural Vacation Bible School Sunday was a delightful blend of cherished traditions and new experiences, all packed into an engaging 120-minute event. We celebrated with a full lineup of activities, including assembly, storytime, singing, crafts, snacks (featuring the nostalgic combo of fake Oreos and Tang), science experiments, and games.
This year’s theme, “Very Good!,” took us through the seven days of creation as described in Genesis. Participants contributed to a collaborative mural that beautifully illustrates the creation story, which you can admire on the wall outside the sanctuary. A relay race tested two teams’ speed in reenacting creation events, with the sea monsters (crafted from Dollar Tree inflatables) proving to be a particularly fun challenge! Hunter Reese captivated everyone with a science experiment that demonstrated the separation of the waters, and our singing group received enthusiastic praise for their renditions of “Father Abraham” and “Deep and Wide.”
We’re already looking forward to next year’s Vacation Bible School Sunday!
