Ministers and Staff

Rev. Bob Stillerman

Rev. Bob Stillerman

Bob Stillerman is a lifelong Baptist and son and grandson of Baptist ministers. After a decade in the advertising industry, Bob enrolled in divinity school in 2010, and has served in various ministry roles for churches in North Carolina, most recently as senior pastor of Sardis Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Bob returned to Millbrook in 2023 (he served as associate minister from 2012-2015). Bob earned a B.A. in business administration from Furman University, an M.B.A. from Appalachian State University, and an M.Div. from the Wake Forest University School of Divinity.

Bob is married to Jacqueline, and together they have three daughters, Mary Allen (8), Lucy (5), and Josephine (2).  When not posing for his children’s sidewalk art, wrangling them to the pool or school, or belting the latest KidzBop hit, Bob can be found walking, reading historical fiction, exploring new places in Raleigh, or yelling at ACC basketball games.

Bob loves Millbrook for its authentic sense of hospitality, and Her willingness to share and receive the collective gifts of Her people. He also likes their quirky, cozy, creative, and joyful way of being Church. And the potlucks. We eat well!

Deborah Tharrington Preschool Director

Deborah Tharrington

Deborah has been a member of Millbrook Baptist Church since 1997. She and her husband, Rod, were married at MBC. Together they have three adult daughters: Emma, Grace and Molly. All of whom were raised here at MBC and attended the preschool too. Deborah grew up as a Baptist preacher’s daughter in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Over the years, she has taught at church preschool programs, worked in children’s summer camps, and led children’s programming here and at various churches.

Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University - “Sic’em Bears!” Later, she earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care from Wake Tech. Deborah started working at Millbrook Baptist Preschool in 2005 by developing and implementing the Toddler Class for one- and two-year-olds. She was the teacher of that class for 19 years until she became director of the preschool in August 2024.

When she isn’t managing the schedules for a family of five or taking care of her dogs and cat, Deborah loves to bake cakes and cookies, enjoys canning (mostly pickles, jam, and apple butter), loves to read actual books from the public library, and travel with her family.
