Millbrook Summer Worship and Brunch Series: Sing. Eat. Pray. Love.
Click here for the Summer Worship Flyer

This summer, Millbrook will offer four special summer worship opportunities with a focus on community and intergenerational formation.
During these special Sundays, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for brunch and worship. It’s our hope that by gathering at the table, there will be more opportunities for connection with one another. In addition, the less formal setting offers space for small group interaction and creative worship activities.
Each iteration of worship will focus on a specific theme: singing, eating, praying, and loving. We’ll consider how each component of community life gives voice to God’s presence among us.
Sundays: 6/28, 7/12, 7/19, and 7/26

Themes:
6/28 Gospel Brunch
Join us for a Sunday of singing Gospel classics, highlighted by a performance from singer/songwriter Robin Davis. Robin’s music embodies a progressive and inclusive theological understanding of God’s love. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, Robin believes in the transformative power of love—encapsulated in the greatest commandments: to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Learn more about Robin here. The MBC Chancel Choir will also lead us by singing several anthems.
7/12 Cereal Potluck
Bring your favorite boxed cereal for our first-ever Cereal Potluck. Extra points if your selection has a prize or toy. Remember when you were little, and you watched Saturday morning cartoons with your cereal? We’ll pay homage to those days by recounting some of our favorite stories of the Heroes and Sheroes in the Bible.
7/19 Prayer Brunch
We’ll bless our food, and then we’ll bless one another. Not only will we consider many of the traditional forms of prayer, but we will also incorporate nontraditional ideas for helping each of us to discover more depth and meaning in our prayer practices.
7/26 Communion Brunch
The meal (brunch) will serve as our Communion. As we break bread together, we’ll explore the history and meaning of Communion, share examples of how other communities offer Eucharist, and begin a dialogue about what aspects of Millbrook’s table are most important to us individually and collectively.
